Volume 4, Issue 10................................... October, 2011

Dear Friend,

The autumn chill is in the air as once again the wheel of the year turns. After the most intense summer of our lives we welcome the slower pace that winter brings. We’d like to thank all of you who have generously contributed to the Hurricane Irene relief fund for Sweetwater Sanctuary Because of you we have been able to replace the rug in the hallway of the Center Building as well as have an excavator remove rubble and silt and form a bank along the stream to prevent any flooding in the future. With the help of your donations the driveway is at least passable now and we are on our way to full repair. Your support means Partner Earth Education Center can continue its good work. Sometimes it takes a community to help each other through challenging times and we are so grateful to be able to count on you in our time of need.

We thought we wouldn’t have a Plant Communication weekend in Vermont and California next year but this class is so popular we couldn’t get away with that.
In honor of your requests we will offer a Vermont Plant Communication class July 13-15 and one in California June 29 – July 1.

We also have T-shirts for sale for $18.00. We hope to eventually have an entire line honoring different plants. This first one is in honor of Mugwort with the saying on the front “I’ve Been Mugged”. Visit our website to order your shirt.

Pam is now interviewing students
for both the California and Vermont Plant Spirit Healing Apprenticeships.
You can call 802-293-5996 to set-up an interview. This next year’s Vermont Apprenticeship is structured differently from the past so be sure to check it out on our website.

We continue to send you love messages especially during this time of outpouring of giving. Be sure to download your free Spread Love card from our website. The following is a beautiful love message that was recently sent to me and we share it here in hopes it will touch your heart. Remember that the word ‘she’ is inclusive of ‘he’. We love you all.

For Love of the World by Charlotte Tall Mountain

For the love of a tree,
she went out on a limb.

For the love of the sea,
she rocked the boat.

For the love of the earth,
she dug deeper.

For the love of community,
she mended fences.

For the love of the stars,
she let her Light shine.

For the love of Spirit,
she nurtured her Soul.

For the love of a good time,
she sowed seeds of happiness.

For the love of the Goddess,
she drew down the moon.

For the love of nature,
she made compost.

For the love of a good meal,
she gave thanks.

For the love of family,
she reconciled differences.

For the love of creativity,
she entertained new possibilities.

For the love of her enemies,
she suspended judgment.

For the love of herself,
she acknowledged her worth.

And the world was richer for her.
