The Organization of Nature Evolutionaries is a multi-dimensional co-operative organization of teachers, practitioners, gardeners, earth stewards, students and community members who have dedicated themselves to a renewal of kinship with Earth and all her beings. Our intention is to bring awareness to the wider world of the inherent need of all humans to be in deep relationship with plants and the natural world which is the source of our sustenance. This relationship is one of co-creative partnership where plants, animals, water, air, land and all beings of nature have equal rights to thrive. We view the heart as the primary organ of perception and seek to receive guidance, make decisions and take action from the heart space with Love as our guiding force.

Our vision is a heart-centered community dedicated to actualizing the full potential of kinship with Earth and all her life forms, systems and dimensions. As humans, we recognize our mutual sacred trust to honor and nurture all that sustains and inspires us.

Our mission is to cultivate co-creative partnership with Earth and All her Beings through the Life Art Gardens of education, stewardship, ceremony, creative expression, activism and healing. We build multi-directional bridges between the natural and human worlds while creating a container that is safe and sacred.

We have chosen to frame ONE in gardening language as we seed our vision and our mission grows through collective fertilization. The following are various gardens that we would like to cultivate:

Join us for this beautiful Retreat to connect yourself to a new and deeper level to the plants of our beautiful Mother Earth. Plants are the most successful organisms on the planet and unlike animals, including humans, have the unique ability to create food, oxygen, and tissue from sunlight. The latest scientific research shows that they are intelligent beings who have the capacity to store enormous amounts of information while being highly efficient in communicating and making decisions. Indigenous healers have known this about plants for centuries and have recognized that it is actually the spirit of the plants that does the communicating and healing.

During this two and half day intensive we will explore Traditional Knowledge woven with modern findings in the realm of Plant Consciousness. You will connect with a beautiful plant being for the weekend, discovering and learning from this amazing being. COMMUNING WITH PLANTS AND TREES

Plant Spirit Communication is a practice of working directly with the consciousness of plants. Throughout the world in many different cultures, people have respectfully tuned into the messages of the plants bringing wisdom and healing for themselves and for the benefit of their communities. By being open to the whisperings of spirit through the plants, this practice enhances well-being on all levels, deepens self-awareness, and mediates integration with our soul selves.

We will teach the methods and tools you can use to open your awareness to the plants. You will learn how to approach plants with authenticity and respect, make flower essences, use divination tools and find your plant allies.

In this workshop we will explore:

How scientific research illuminates and validates the underpinnings of the ancient practice of human/plant communication

How to bring our energy fields into vibratory resonance with those of plants, opening the doors of communication

How to focus our attention to receive messages from plants through our bodily sensations and emotions

How to use and refine our sensory skills to “read the book of nature”

How to use our powers of visualization and creativity to bring the plants’ messages into beautiful expression in our lives

How to receive healing gifts from a plant ally

How to create meaningful ritual to honor the sacred reciprocal relationship with our plant allies.

One doesn’t need to be sensitive to inner seeing or hearing, or intellectually knowledgeable about plants or nature, to receive the healing gifts offered through Plant Spirit Healing. It is only necessary to come to the work with an open heart.

Suzanne Harding www.SpiralRoot.com

I started my spiritual journey at a young age by exploring my connection with spirit through the natural world. My path led me to a shamanic path of discovering alternate realities to find wisdom, power and healing.

I studied the Vision Quest model and deepened my connection to nature and the divine through fasting and solitude in the desert and forest. My teacher and guide was Beth Beurkens. I participated in 3 quests which were very powerful for my self-development.

In my awe and connection to the plants I studied Western Herbalism with Rosemary Gladstar. I became certified as a community herbalist and later followed my knowing and began to study Plant Spirit Healing with Pam Montgomery. Through my Plant Spirit Healing experiences I found that spirit surrounds us, talks with us and heals us through the plants. I also found that I was connected to all beings, animate and inanimate and I awoke from the dream of separateness.

I have always been an artist and like to have and make tangible “things”, to assist me in my process of self-discovery. I believe that creativity and the imagination are the biggest tools we have as human beings.

I was drawn to Reiki because I felt a need to connect with people through touch. What I found was that Reiki is a very powerful tool to offer others as well as for my own self-healing. Reiki became an ally and continues to unfold it’s many healing secrets. I studied with Haleya Priest and continued my studies to become a Reiki Master. I now combine several modalities and consider my private practice Shamanic Reiki as it builds on the Usui Reiki by bringing in the healing power of plants, weather, animals and helping spirits.

My mission is to provide tools and experiences to further your self-discovery and connection to spirit. I do this by guiding you to connect to your inner knowing and power by being in nature in a deeper way, experiencing the universal healing energy, and coming into your place of truth, purpose and light.

April Thanhauser MS CRTpractices reflexology and Plant Spirit Healing on Martha’s Vineyard and leads workshops in Plant Spirit Communication.

April’s work welcomes the creative impulse in each of us. She is a gifted storyteller, and skilled crafts-woman who has launched celebratory community festivals. A long-time student of world religions and a cherag (minister) in the Sufi Order, she is a maker of ceremonies to honor the divine in nature and in us all. She is committed to re-envisioning and re-enlivening sacred ceremony in concert with the Green World.

During her many years as a special education and preschool teacher, April sought to nourish the bond between children and the magical world of nature. She helped to found the Plum Hill School on Martha’s Vineyard and continues to bring the therapeutic influence of puppetry and fairy tales to families through “Spindrift Marionettes”.

After accompanying her spouse through his cancer journey and death, she has rededicated herself to a healing vocation. She trained in the curative arts of reflexology and Plant Spirit Healing. During the course of her PSH apprenticeship, she discovered a deep connection with the sacredness of water and a special affinity for the practice of plant spirit bathing. This led her to further studies in spiritual healing with Rosita Arvigo, whose healing ritual of plant bathing derives from the teachings of Mayan elders.

Recognizing that true healing means connecting with our vital source and reviving our relationship with the nature beings, April treasures the methods of Plant Spirit Healing developed by Pam Montgomery. She joyfully shares these ways of attuning with the plant world in her workshops on Communing with Plants and Trees. On Martha’s Vineyard, the workshops run in connection with Spirit Water Institute (www.spiritwaterretreats.com)

     The Sacred Heart of Herbalism

                                                                                          with Karine Gordineer

At The Sacred Heart of Herbalism are the Plant Spirits themselves!  It is life at its core energy.  The Sacred Heart of Herbalism is the enduring, living, evolving wisdom of the plants as it has been for longer than humans have been alive.  This year long series of classes will work with herbalism in the way it was originally taught; infused with the Spirits of the Plants.  In this series we will work with the Native American Medicine Wheel, the shamanic journey, sacred dreaming, medicine making techniques, plant identification, plant energetics and the plants of course!  The focus of these classes will also reside in assisting participants in discovering their plant allies as we engage with the Plant Spirits throughout.  Each class will focus on discussion of the qualities of a different set of herbs and a new medicine making technique will be demonstrated in each session.  Plant identification walks will happen as time and weather permits.

At the end of the series participants can expect to have a solid foundation of working with herbs medicinally to keep themselves healthy and balanced, be able to make their own herbal remedies in the form of infusions, decoctions, oils, salves, flower essences, tinctures, syrups, know how to grow herbs, how to harvest and dry herbs properly, identify locally growing herbs, discover their personal plant allies and how to work with them in their daily lives.  So join us as we journey around the Sacred Medicine Wheel learning and growing with the Plant Nations and reawakening our relationship to Mother Earth!

The Sacred Heart of Herbalism course is designed to increase your knowledge and confidence in working with the plants in a healing way, each class building upon the next.  It is recommended that all classes are taken and a discount will be given for those that sign up and pay for the entire series , it is not necessary, however, to take every class as all classes can be taken individually.  This course will meet once a month for 3 hours each session. There will be suggested homework in-between sessions and I will be available to answer any questions.  Specific dates and times are listed below.

The Sacred Heart of Herbalism is life changing work that heals on all levels providing the opportunity to learn skills that will stay with you throughout your life!  I hope you will join us on this wonderful journey.
